Jesus Christ, Super Starseed?

What started the wonderings and musings was something my sixth-grade teacher, a nun, said to me. She said something to the effect that Superman was a metaphor for Jesus and that the Church did not look kindly upon the story of Superman. I looked at her strangely and could not comprehend what she was saying. Nonetheless, her words stuck with me. Then after my spiritual awakening in 1979 at the age of 40, I began to read everything with new eyes, including the bible. The questions that are posed in this presentation are left to the listeners and readers to contemplate and answer in private.

Luke 1:26-38 (King James Version):

[²⁶And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
 ²⁷To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
 ²⁸And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
 ²⁹And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
 ³⁰And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
 ³¹And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
 ³²He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
 ³³And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
 ³⁴Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
 ³⁵And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
 ³⁶And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
 ³⁷For with God nothing shall be impossible.
 ³⁸And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. ]

The above passage was brought to my attention one day, and I began to wonder if the Angel Gabriel might have been a space traveler from another planet. Angels are often depicted with wings. Could those wings indicate air travel, even travel from another planet? Because of the technology currently known in our world, could Gabriel have impregnated Mary via artificial insemination?

Now the Jews in high places at the time of Jesus often questioned him to see what he would say that might trip him up and make himself a candidate for crucifixion – the death penalty of choice in those days. Two such passages are in John 8 and John 12.

John 8:53-59 (King James Version)

[⁵³Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
 ⁵⁴Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
 ⁵⁵Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
 ⁵⁶Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
 ⁵⁷Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
 ⁵⁸Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
 ⁵⁹Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. ]

John 12:34-36 (King James Version)

[³⁴The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
 ³⁵Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
 ³⁶While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. ]

Now the significant idea in these two passages to my mind is that Jesus “hid himself” when he was in danger. What does this mean? If Jesus was the progeny of people from another planet, might they not monitor his life from a mother ship with the capability of beaming him up and down from the ship?

In another passage from John:

John 17:16 (King James Version)

[¹⁶They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.]
Is it possible that Jesus was stating he was not only spiritually not of the world, but also a being from the seed of beings from another planet?

Returning to the subject of “Beam me up, Scottie”, let’s look at the following passage from Acts:

Acts 1:9-12 (King James Version)

[⁹And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
 ¹⁰And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
 ¹¹Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
 ¹²Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath day's journey. ]

Isn’t that interesting? We’ve seen many science fiction movies that show that very type of scene, of people rising thru the air, dematerializing as they go, then subsequently seeing them materializing again inside a space ship. Then the passage continues with two men suddenly appearing next to the disciples, wearing white apparel. What is the color of our astronauts’ suits? They wear white so as not to absorb too much heat from the sun when they happen to be outside of their ships in space.

Recently I saw a documentary that indicated that during the lost years of Jesus (from the age of 12 to 29), as told in ancient scrolls, that Jesus was in India and Tibet. In 1894 Nicolas Notovitch published a book called “The Unknown Life Of Christ”. Notovitch traveled extensively throughout Afghanistan, India, and Tibet, During one of his journeys he stayed in a Buddhist convent in Ladak and discovered a document called “The Life Of St. Issa” and learned about other ancient records of the life Of Jesus in the Orient.

James Churchward (1851 – 1936) in 1926 published “The Lost Continent Of Mu: Motherland Of Man” which he claimed proved the existence of a lost continent called Mu (also known as Lemuria) in the Pacific Ocean. He claimed that Mu was the site of the Garden Of Eden and its civilization, which flourished 50,000 years prior to Churchward’s day was technologically more advanced than his own, and that the ancient civilizations of India, Babylon, Persia, Egypt, and the Mayas were mere remnants of its colonies. He learned about Mu from a priest at a monastery in India, but he also saw clay tablets that showed that Jesus had lived in India sometime during the lost years. Churchward also wrote a book called “The Language Of Mu”. In that book he mentions that the words of Jesus on the cross “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani” is in the language of Mu and refers to the sinking of the island continent into the sea.

There are also legends that indicate that after his resurrection, Jesus married Mary Magdalene, had children with her, and traveled to the Orient, France, England, and even America. OK, if this is true, I can see walking or riding to the Orient and France, and taking a boat to England, but how about America? Could this be still another case for spaceship travel and beaming up and down? Contemplate these thoughts, and make your own decision.
