Blessed are those who are Poor in Spirit….
This is not just those who have suffered a great calamity, or who are otherwise depressed or needy. The worse the condition of the spirit the more prone we are to undesirable behaviors. When we fail to feel love, joy, peace we are poor in Spirit. If we are: Yelling, Crying, Angry, or feeling Fearful we are poor in Spirit.
The Prodigal Son…
1. The Father celebrated his son with ALL that he had upon his return.
2. He restored to his Son ALL that he had lost.
3. The Son was more valuable than all the Father had to give.
This story is not just about “proper human” behavior, but a wonderful description of what we can expect from Our Father… God.
If Thy Brother Strikes You, Turn Your Cheek and Let Him Strike the
Other...
Arguments seldom turn out the way we see them in a movie. Too often
both parties get carried away with the heat of the moment and say
things they normally would never consider saying. This teaching
encourages us to Stop Fanning the Flames! Instead of responding, stay
quiet and cool. Wait until you feel peace again before discussing the
issue. I was told as a child to count backwards from 10. I find it
takes me a “bit” longer these days. LOL!
God created us to LOVE. YOU ARE A TREASURE! You are your Own Pot of Gold. God has created a pot of gold within each
of us for each of us. We are each a treasure. Learn to trust in it.
Take the time to say, I DID THAT! Look what I CAN DO! I AM ABLE! YOUR
abilities ARE your wealth. Take the time to number your abilities. When
we do the work for which we were gifted we feel elevated, meditative,
and joyful. When we feel this was we are NOT feeling stressed or
judgmental. We feel whole. Ask God to show you the path to your success.
LEARNING TO LOVE YOURSELF: Tips & Tricks
The Nature of the Problem… Why we Judge.
We judge because we are unhappy with ourselves. We judge because we
lack proper understanding of the events that led to our unhappiness.
Everyone deserves love, respect and joy. Once we understand the true
nature of the events in our lives we develop compassion. Once we
develop "right" or God’s understanding we stop judging.
Loving God & Yourself… You can only love God as well as you love
yourself. What you cannot feel, you cannot give. Our emotions have
everything to do with how we feel about ourselves and our mental and
physical condition. Creating self-love is vital to our sense of
well-being. Allow yourself to ask trusted friends or counselors for a
different interpretation of those things that bother you. Reject or put
on hold those ideas that cause you fear or anger. Ask God for
right-understanding, you will be lead.
FEED yourself with good news. 90% of what you intake on a daily basis
should be GOOD NEWS. Learn to assess information in a way that leaves
you light-hearted and the world looking “rosy.”
Encouragement feeds or conditions our nervous system. Take it into your
heart and let it feed and relax your soul. It creates relaxation and
joy in the body.
Respect. To truly feel self-respect you must learn to give respect
properly. Too often we say nice things to another at the expense of
ourselves. Learn to deliver respect in a way that also respects you.
This takes patience and practice. Once you get it you will never go
back. It feels that good.
Grace goes hand-in-hand with forgiveness. Being polite or gracious to
one another is a way to feed them and feed yourself. You will be amazed
at the amount of grace you receive once you set out to give grace. The
more grace that is needed, the more healing balm you will give out.
What’s In It For Me?
The better we feel about ourselves, the better able we are to function.
Love is the great enabler, our GO juice. Having love for yourself gives
you the ability to run with life.
